Terms & Conditions

These terms apply to all orders placed with Anything-Bespoke, which is a trading name of MES Engineering Solutions Ltd, these terms also apply to email, social media, phone, message, or in person. Full company details are shown in the website footer.

By placing an order with us, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. About Us

Anything-Bespoke is a trading name of MES Engineering Solutions Ltd, Full company details are shown in the website footer.

Please note: this is our registered office address only and is not a returns address, or workshop address. For returns, please contact us first at enquiries@anything-bespoke.co.uk

Our workshop is based on the outskirts of Southampton in the United Kingdom and we currently only accept orders for delivery within the UK.

2. What We Make

We create bespoke and made-to-order steel products, including custom steel signs, logo signs, house and garden signs, shed and man cave signs, decorative steel artwork, indoor and outdoor steel designs, furniture, brackets, frames and other functional or artistic steel items.

Each item is made individually. Finished pieces may vary slightly from photographs, digital mock-ups, drawings or previous examples because of the handmade nature of the work and the natural character of steel.

3. Bespoke & Custom Orders

Most of our work is made to order and created to the customer’s specifications.

Customers may provide ideas, sketches, photographs, wording, logos, dimensions or design references. We may also help develop a design from an initial idea.

It is the customer’s responsibility to check that all details are correct before approving the design, including names, wording, spelling, dates, numbers, dimensions, material choice, finish, fixing points, mounting holes, layout and any practical requirements.

Once a design has been approved and production has started, changes may not be possible. If changes can be made, additional charges may apply.

4. Design Proofs & Approval

Where appropriate, we may provide a digital proof, mock-up, drawing, sketch, render or visual example before production.

Design proofs are intended to show general layout and appearance. Colours, textures, scale, finishes and materials may appear differently on screen compared with the finished product.

Production will begin once the customer has approved the design and any required payment or deposit has been received.

Customer approval confirms that the customer accepts the layout, wording, spelling, measurements, design features and visible details shown in the proof.

5. Customer-Supplied Logos, Images & Designs

If you provide a logo, image, artwork, phrase, brand name, photograph, drawing or other material for us to use, you confirm that you have the right to use it and to ask us to reproduce, adapt or cut it in steel.

You are responsible for ensuring that supplied material does not infringe copyright, trademark, design rights, image rights or any other third-party rights.

We reserve the right to refuse any design that we believe may infringe another person’s rights, be offensive, unsafe, unsuitable, unlawful, impractical or inappropriate.

6. Our Designs, Copyright & Intellectual Property

All original designs, drawings, mock-ups, templates, photographs, website images, written content and design concepts created by Anything-Bespoke remain our intellectual property unless agreed otherwise in writing.

Customers may not copy, reproduce, sell, publish, commercially use or provide our designs to another maker without our written permission.

Where a customer supplies their own logo, artwork or design, ownership of that original material remains with the customer or the rightful owner. Any design work we create around or from that material remains our work unless agreed otherwise in writing.

Purchasing a finished item does not automatically transfer copyright or design rights in the artwork, drawings, digital files or design process.

7. Prices, Quotes

All prices are given in pounds sterling.

Quotations are based on the information provided at the time and may change if the size, material, design, finish, delivery, installation requirement or specification changes.

Quotes are valid for 14 days unless stated otherwise.

Prices may include or exclude delivery depending on the quote. This will be made clear before the order is confirmed.

We are not VAT registered.

8. Payment & Deposits

Payment terms will be confirmed before work begins.

For bespoke and made-to-order work, we may require full payment upfront or a non-refundable deposit before design, materials ordering or production starts, with the balance due before delivery, collection or installation.

Deposits may cover design time, special materials, drawings, setup work..

Ownership of the goods remains with Anything-Bespoke until full payment has been received.

9. Cancellations

Because many of our products are bespoke, personalised or made to the customer’s specification, cancellation rights may be limited once work has begun.

For bespoke, personalised or made-to-order items, orders cannot usually be cancelled once production has started, unless we agree otherwise.

If you wish to cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible. If design work, materials ordering, cutting, fabrication, finishing or production has already started, charges may apply and any refund may be reduced accordingly.

For standard, non-personalised items bought online, the separate Returns & Cancellations Policy explains the usual consumer cancellation process.

10. Returns & Refunds

Bespoke, personalised or made-to-order items cannot usually be returned because you have changed your mind, unless they are faulty, not as described or we have agreed otherwise.

This does not affect your statutory rights. Goods supplied to consumers must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality.

If an item arrives damaged, faulty or incorrect, please contact us within. 48 hours of delivery and provide photographs, including packaging where possible.

Where we agree that an item is faulty, damaged or incorrect, we may offer repair, replacement, partial refund or full refund depending on the circumstances.

11. Handmade Nature of Products

Each item is individually made and finished. Small variations are part of the handmade process and are not normally considered faults.

This may include slight differences in colour, finish, patina, weathering, texture, scale and appearance compared with digital proofs or photographs.

12. Steel, Rust, Weathering & Outdoor Use

Steel is a natural and changeable material. Unless specifically treated, coated, painted, galvanised, sealed or made from weather-resistant material, steel may rust or weather over time.

Mild steel may rust outdoors or in damp environments. Corten steel is designed to weather and develop a protective rust-coloured patina. Stainless steel is more resistant to corrosion but can still mark, stain or discolour in certain environments.

If you require a particular finish or level of weather resistance, this must be discussed before ordering.

We are not responsible for natural weathering, rusting, staining or colour changes after delivery or installation unless caused by a fault in the product.

13. Measurements, Installation & Fixing

Customers are responsible for checking that the product size, design and fixing method are suitable for the intended location.

Unless we have specifically agreed to provide installation, the customer is responsible for fitting, mounting and installing the item safely.

We are not responsible for damage caused by incorrect installation, unsuitable fixings, poor wall condition, weather exposure, misuse, movement of surfaces or lack of maintenance.

For heavy, outdoor, high-mounted or large items, we recommend professional installation.

14. Safety & Use

Steel items may be heavy. Customers should handle, install and maintain items safely.

Items are supplied for their agreed intended use only. If you intend to use an item structurally, commercially, in a public place, near children, or in a way that may affect safety, you must tell us before ordering so suitability can be discussed.

15. Delivery & Lead Times

We currently supply within the UK only.

Delivery times and lead times are estimates and may vary depending on workload, design approval, material availability, production complexity, courier delays, weather, equipment issues or other circumstances outside our control.

Risk in the goods passes to the customer once the goods have been delivered, or left in an agreed safe place.

Please check your item on arrival and report any damage as soon as possible.

16. Use of Product Photos

We may photograph completed items and use images on our website, social media, portfolio, advertising or promotional material.

If your item includes personal details, a private address, a phone number or sensitive information, please tell us if you do not want it shown publicly.

We will not knowingly publish private contact details without permission.

17. Website Images & Product Examples

Images on our website and social media are examples of previous work or design possibilities. They are provided for inspiration and guidance only.

Due to the bespoke nature of our work, final items may differ very slightly from examples shown.

18. Refusal of Work

We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including designs that are offensive, unsafe, unlawful, inappropriate, impractical or may infringe another person’s rights.

If we cancel an order before work has started, any payment made will be refunded.

19. Limitation of Liability

We are not responsible for loss caused by incorrect information supplied by the customer, customer-approved errors, misuse, poor installation, unsuitable location, lack of maintenance, natural material changes, third-party delays or circumstances outside our control.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

20. Privacy

We will only use your personal information to process your enquiry, manage your order, arrange delivery, communicate with you, keep appropriate business records and operate our business.

Please see our separate Privacy Policy for more information.

21. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales, unless consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere in the UK.
